Welcome the Monsoon with a Mug of Hot Cocoa!
As the sun plays hide and seek with the clouds, and the skies break open with promises of cold rain showers, there’s quite nothing like a large mug of hot chocolate, and an even larger blanket for a picture-perfect evening indoors!
And since we at Kethini always like to do things a little differently, here’s a great recipe for hot chocolate with a twist!
1 cup vanilla-flavored coconut milk
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
1 tablespoon white sugar
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Add the coconut milk, cocoa powder, white sugar, vanilla essence and cinnamon to a saucepan. Stir over medium heat until the cocoa and sugar are fully dissolved. Stir for a total of 5 – 8 minutes. Pour into a mug and serve with a side of toasted marshmallows.
There’s also a special secret ingredient for those days when your lazy evenings turn into an impromptu monsoon poker party. Just add a splash (one tablespoon to be precise) of rum to your deliciously brown hot cocoa concoction to give it that much-needed punch!
And speaking of warm brown hot cocoa, you can check out Kethini’s range of deliciously brown shoes here.
