MOVIES EVERY SHOE LOVER MUST WATCH
If you are anything like us, then you eat, breathe, live shoes too! Given our spontaneous and albeit regular shoe-gasm, these are a few of our aspirational (not to mention the greatest) fashion movies of all time.
Sex and the City
If anyone can bring out your inner fashionista, it is Carrie Bradshaw! A character played by Sarah Jessica Parker, so iconic that she was the unofficial on-screen brand ambassador of Manolo. Whether it was a day of lounging in the sun or a formal black tie event, Carrie and her girls always had their outfits and shoes on fleek, giving us lowly mortals some serious wardrobe goals! The scene where Mr. Big promises her a happily ever after with a pair of shoes is ever girls dream come true.
Devil Wears Prada
This is a typical ugly duckling turned swan story that follows the life of Andy, played by Anne Hathaway, set across the background of an alluring fashion magazine, ‘Runway’. The editor of the magazine is played by the Golden Lady of Hollywood herself – Meryl Streep, whose portrayal of Miranda Priestly inspires terror and awe in equal measure. The movie features Andy’s iconic blue sweater, which quickly transforms into a montage of gloriously breath-taking ensembles. The carefully curated collection of some of the biggest brands in fashion is a visual treat to all viewers. This is one fashion movie for the books.
Confessions of a Shopaholic
We all know the joy of retail therapy, and the boundless joy it brings. Clearly Rebecca Bloomwood played by Isla Fisher feels the same way, with her mounting credit card debt, and her closet full of drop dead gorgeous clothes and shoes. She gets a job at a savings magazine, where she uses shoes as a way of explaining complicated economic theories, that helps her gain popularity under the pen name of ‘Girl in a Green Scarf.’ Hilarity ensues when she tries to escape her debt officer, and comes up with a fool proof scheme to help her get rid of him completely and get her life back on track.
